Options

This document explains the Options feature under the "Drugs" management module in the HelloClinic system. This page serves as the backend settings area where you can pre-configure and manage various standardized drug-related options to streamline daily operations and ensure data consistency.

Feature Overview

The core of the "Options" feature is standardization. By pre-setting common drug attributes, when you add or edit drugs in Inventory, you can directly select from a dropdown menu instead of manually typing each time. The benefits of this approach include:

  • Improved Efficiency: Significantly reduces repetitive data entry, speeding up drug data creation.
  • Ensured Consistency: Prevents typos or varied phrasing caused by manual input, unifying drug data format across the clinic.
  • Simplified Operations: Allows all users to follow standard options, reducing the likelihood of errors.

Main Interface Features

HelloClinic Drug Options Settings Interface

This interface consists of two main parts: the "Option Category Tabs" at the top and the "Management Area" below.

1. Option Category Tabs

You can click on different tabs to manage the default options for each category. Key categories include:

  • Caution: Manage drug warnings or precautions, such as "Avoid taking with dairy products."
  • Intake Instruction: Set drug usage instructions, such as "Take after meals."
  • Category: Create drug categories, such as "Antibiotics," "Painkillers."
  • Label: Customize labels for easy filtering or identification.
  • Dosage: Manage drug forms, such as "Tablet," "Capsule," "Oral Solution."
  • Frequency: Set medication frequency, such as "Once daily," "Three times daily."
  • Day: Set common treatment durations in days.
  • Strength Unit: Set the unit for the active ingredient of the drug, such as mg, g, ml.
  • Unit: Set the basic counting unit for drugs, such as "piece," "bottle."
  • Package Unit: Set the packaging unit for drugs, such as "box," "strip."
  • Volume: Set the volume for liquid medications.
  • ... and other custom categories.

2. Management Area

Regardless of which category tab you select, the structure of its management interface is very similar:

  • Search: Above the list, you can enter keywords to quickly find existing options.
  • Create Button: Located in the top right corner, the button name will change based on the selected category (e.g., it's [+ Create Drug Caution] under the "Caution" tab). Click this button to add an option for that category.
  • Options List: Displays all pre-configured options. For example, in the "Caution" tab, the list will show "Caution (Chinese)" and "Caution (English)."
  • Actions: To the right of each option are two action icons:
    • ✏️ Edit: Modify the content of that option.
    • 🗑️ Delete: Remove that option from the system.

  3. In the pop-up form, fill in the content of the option (e.g., enter "Every four hours").
  4. After saving, this new option will appear in the list, and in the future, it can be selected from the dropdown menu in the corresponding field when adding/editing drugs.

How to Edit or Delete an Option?

  2. Find the option you want to modify or delete in the list.
  3. Click the ✏️ Edit icon to the right of the option to modify its content, or click the 🗑️ Delete icon to remove it.
